Our Production process

At OG Toy Art Studio, every collectible figure is produced through a carefully managed production workflow designed to maintain consistency, quality, and premium presentation throughout every stage.

Using the finalized prototype sample as the master blueprint, we guide each production run through molding, resin casting, fabrication, polishing, preparation, and paint-ready finishing to ensure every figure meets our quality standards.

Phase 1 — Prototype Master Preparation

The production process begins with the finalized prototype sample developed during the prototyping phase. This master prototype acts as the foundation for all production pieces moving forward.

What This Includes:

  • Final prototype approval
  • Printing clean blank production samples
  • Preparing master parts for mold creation
  • Separating production-ready components

Example:

If the collectible includes interchangeable heads, accessories, hands, or layered clothing pieces, each component is individually prepared to ensure precise mold creation and clean production casting.

Phase 2 — Silicone Mold Creation

Once the production masters are prepared, silicone molds are created for every individual figure component. These molds are used to reproduce the raw resin cast pieces used throughout production.

What This Includes:

  • High-detail silicone mold creation
  • Individual mold setup for each component
  • Production mold organization
  • Preparing molds for resin casting

Example:

The figure’s head, body, arms, accessories, base, and smaller details are each molded separately to preserve sculpt detail and improve casting accuracy during production.

Phase 3 — Raw Resin Casting Production

Using the silicone molds, raw resin cast pieces are produced to create the individual parts needed for each figure.

This stage transforms the molds into physical production components that will later be cleaned, refined, assembled, and prepared for painting.

What This Includes:

  • Resin pouring and casting
  • Raw production piece creation
  • Initial curing and hardening
  • Separation of cast components

Example:

Each cast may produce separate raw resin parts including the figure body, head sculpt, accessories, hands, props, and display base components.

Phase 4 — Fabrication & Refinement

After casting, all raw resin pieces move into the fabrication stage where each component is manually refined and corrected.

This is one of the most important stages in the production process because it ensures every piece is properly cleaned, polished, and prepared for final finishing.

What This Includes:

  • Removing excess resin material
  • Cleaning mold seam lines
  • Fixing casting imperfections
  • Surface correction and refinement
  • Manual sanding and trimming

Example:

If a cast piece contains excess flashing, small air bubbles, uneven edges, or minor imperfections, our fabrication team manually cleans and repairs the piece to restore the intended sculpt quality.

Phase 5 — Quality Inspection & Polishing

Every production component is individually inspected throughout the process before moving into the next stage.

Maintaining quality control at every step helps ensure consistency across the entire production run.

What This Includes:

  • Structural inspections
  • Surface quality checks
  • Detail verification
  • Final sanding and polishing
  • Paint surface preparation

Example:

Each figure part is checked for clean surfaces, accurate details, and proper fitment before it is approved for paint preparation.

Phase 6 — Paint Preparation & Color Coding

Once all parts are finalized and approved, each section of the figure is carefully organized and prepared for painting.

Every component is color coded and referenced against the approved prototype sample and concept artwork to maintain uniformity throughout production.

What This Includes:

  • Paint preparation setup
  • Color matching and organization
  • Section-by-section paint mapping
  • Reference blueprint coordination
  • Production consistency management

Example:

If a figure includes multiple paint applications such as skin tones, clothing colors, metallic accessories, tattoos, gradients, or weathering effects, each section is carefully mapped and referenced against the approved production sample.

Phase 7 — Production Uniformity & Final Guidance

Throughout the production process, the approved prototype sample and original concept drawings act as the master blueprint used to guide every figure produced.

This system helps maintain consistency, accuracy, and quality throughout all customer orders and production quantities.

Our Production Standards Focus On:

  • Consistent sculpt quality
  • Uniform paint application
  • Accurate color matching
  • Reliable part assembly
  • Clean finishing and presentation
  • Premium collectible quality control

Example:

Whether producing a small limited run or a larger collectible order, every figure is compared against the original prototype and concept references to ensure the final products remain visually consistent across the entire production batch.
